About Carolina Coastal Cafe - CaCoCa

Just a stone's throw from the shimmering waters of the Atlantic, nestled in the charming streets of Southport, North Carolina, lies a delightful gem for food enthusiasts—Carolina Coastal Cafe, or as the locals lovingly call it, CaCoCa. It's easy to see why this spot has rapidly become a local favorite. Stepping into CaCoCa is like being welcomed into a warm embrace, with its cozy, nautical-themed interior—a nod to the seaside locale. The subtle aroma of fresh seafood wafts through the air, immediately whetting the appetite.

The menu at CaCoCa is nothing short of a culinary journey along the Carolina coast. Offering an array of fresh catches and Southern-inspired classics, it does not take long to realize that the food here is serious business. A good starting point would certainly be the Low Country Boil, a true masterpiece that comes loaded with shrimp, corn, potatoes, and smoked sausage. It's a hearty dish that sings of Southern hospitality.

For those with a penchant for something a bit more refined, the crab cakes have gained quite the reputation among patrons and reviewers alike. Delicately golden and bursting with flavor, these crab cakes are testament to the restaurant's commitment to quality. Paired with a lemon aioli sauce, they bring a touch of elegance to a rustic setting. Meanwhile, sandwiches and burgers make their statement too, with the Coastal Burger—a juicy beef patty topped with fried onions and a delightful house sauce—serving as an indulgent treat for any time of day.

CaCoCa is not just about the food, though; it’s a sensory experience. The location at 607 N Howe St provides the perfect backdrop, allowing diners to enjoy their meals while soaking in the quaint charm of Southport. The outdoor seating offers a refreshing view and is particularly delightful during the breezy evenings.

One cannot overlook the welcoming atmosphere fostered by the staff. Their genuine smiles and eagerness to ensure a pleasant dining experience have been noted frequently in customer reviews, elevating the visit from just a meal to an inviting escape.

In conclusion, Carolina Coastal Cafe presents itself as a go-to spot for both locals and tourists eager to savor the best of coastal cuisine. It’s a place where hearty meals meet a soothing ambiance, creating an unforgettable dining experience that captures the essence of Southport. Whether it’s the flavorful dishes, the friendly service, or the picturesque setting, CaCoCa stands out as a delightful haven for those craving an authentic taste of Carolina’s coastal life.

Went here with my man and son. We had the stuffed french toast strawberry on his blueberry on mine. It was delicious. My 12 year old got the chili bowl, scrambled eggs with hash browns and he said they were good. We agree that this place was delightful. Great atmosphere cozy and adorable. I loved how they decorated for the holidays. I spoke to one of the waitresses and than one of the owners daughters I believe Trin and asked if they decorate the place just for Christmas all year round and she informed me they do it for all the holidays. Simply my favorite! Cheers to you guys and your success thank you for the wonderful experience really enjoyed this spot.

We went for Saturday breakfast, and had the enjoyment of sitting out in the lovely weather in November. The service was on point. Very friendly and very responsive. They even cleared the table before putting the bill on the table. They have a large variety of food, so if you're craving something, this place probably has it. The potato casserole was a little more salty than I would like but it was good, I remember having it once before and I had to get two of them today because I was craving it. The eggs were light and fluffy, the Chili Bowl was huge and we did not leave hungry. We also left very happy.

Delightful server and delicious food. Had the chicken and waffles Nashville style, it was really good. My wife enjoyed the decor along with loaded macaroni and cheese.. They also have great biscuits, coffee and desserts. The picture I uploaded only shows about half of the chicken. I started eating before I took the pic.

We had a nice experience here. Nice and friendly service after a short wait. Had the patty melt (where’s the rye?) but it was delish nonetheless. Spouse loved the veggie wrap with Sriracha aioli. Great fries and topped off with a great mimosa.

On a recent trip to Southport, we decided to stop at the café for lunch. We sat outside with our dog, and the service was reasonably good—attentive without being overbearing. I tried the Nashville hot chicken tenders, and they were excellent—crispy, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The fries were also a highlight: golden and satisfyingly crunchy. However, the biscuit that came with my meal was a letdown. It tasted like something straight out of the refrigerated section at the grocery store, and for a place that bills itself as a craft or specialty breakfast spot, offering fake butter spread instead of real butter was disappointing. My wife opted for the chicken sandwich, which she thought was very good. Like my meal, her fries were crispy and well-seasoned. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience, and we plan to return to explore more of the menu. That said, given the underwhelming biscuit and fake butter spread, we’ll likely stick to lunch items next time. To those about to nosh, we salute you!
